Boris Johnson's Apology Interrupted: Covid Inquiry Chaos

During his first day of evidence at the UK Covid-19 Inquiry, former UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson apologized for the pain and suffering caused by the pandemic, as well as for not calling out disparaging remarks made by Dominic Cummings about a former senior civil servant. Johnson defended his decision to stick by former Health Secretary Matt Hancock, despite criticism, and admitted that he should have recognized the seriousness of Covid-19 sooner. He expressed regret for shaking hands with Covid patients and not stopping major sporting events in March 2020. Johnson also stated that he had no other tool than lockdown to protect human life.
