"Papua New Guinea Landslide Buries Over 300"

A massive landslide in northern Papua New Guinea has buried over 300 people and more than 1,100 houses in Kaokalam village, Enga Province. The disaster, which occurred early Friday morning, has impacted six villages and blocked highway access, necessitating helicopter use for rescue operations. Emergency teams have retrieved four bodies so far, with the death toll expected to rise. Relief and recovery efforts are underway with assistance from disaster officials, the Defence Force, and the Department of Works and Highways.
