Hostage Released in Israel-Hamas Ceasefire, American Woman Among Those Freed

An American citizen named Liat Beinin was among the 16 hostages released by Hamas on the sixth day of the temporary cease-fire between Israel and the militant group. President Biden confirmed her release and stated that she would soon be reunited with her three children. The Israeli government listed her name as Liat Binin Atzili. In total, 10 Israeli and dual-citizen hostages, including five minors and five women, were released, along with four Thai citizens. Talks are being held in Doha to extend the cease-fire and negotiate the release of more hostages. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated that Israel would resume operations in Gaza after the hostages are returned.
