Settlement Reached: Biden Administration Ends Migrant Family Separations

The Biden administration has reached a proposed settlement agreement with the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) regarding the separation of migrant families under the Trump administration's "zero tolerance" policy. The settlement, which still needs to be reviewed and approved by a federal judge, would establish new standards to limit future family separations and provide support services for those previously separated. It would also grant temporary relief from deportation and work authorizations for over 3,900 children and their families. The ACLU estimates that around 1,000 children still remain separated from their parents.
