West Nile Virus Detected in Mosquitoes Across Multiple Locations

Mosquitoes carrying the West Nile virus have been found in Anne Arundel County, Maryland. The county health department has issued a warning and the Maryland Department of Agriculture will be spraying affected areas to control the mosquito population. The West Nile virus can be transmitted to humans and animals through mosquito bites, and symptoms can include headache, fever, muscle and joint aches, nausea, and fatigue. Residents are advised to take precautions such as staying indoors during peak mosquito activity, wearing protective clothing, removing standing water, and using repellents.
