Rising HIV Cases Traced to Vampire Facials at VIP Spa

The New Mexico Department of Health has reported additional cases of HIV infections linked to a now-closed Albuquerque spa, VIP Spa, where individuals received vampire facials or botox injections. The spa was shut down in 2018 after two people tested positive for HIV. The former owner of the spa was sentenced to three and a half years in prison. The Department of Health is urging anyone who received treatments at the spa to get tested again, and they are hosting free testing events for former VIP clients.
