A dress worn by Princess Diana, designed by Jacques Azagury, has sold at auction for a record-breaking $1,143,000, surpassing its estimated value by 11 times. The blue and black star-spangled dress, worn by Diana on two formal occasions in 1985 and 1986, represents a shift in her fashion style towards more trendy pieces. Despite not being one of her better-known dresses, its sale highlights the enduring fascination with Princess Diana's wardrobe. The proceeds from the auction will benefit the New York Historical Society.
