Hollywood Writers Strike Nears End with Tentative Deal

The Writers Guild of America (WGA) and Hollywood studios have reached a tentative agreement to end the historic screenwriters strike that has lasted nearly five months. The three-year contract agreement, subject to approval by the guild's board and members, comes just days before the strike would have become the longest in the guild's history. However, no deal has been reached yet for the striking actors. Talks between studios and the Screen Actors Guild-American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA) have not resumed, leaving crew members unemployed for now.
