"Pittsburgh University Addresses LGBTQ Demands and Campus Safety Concerns"

The University of Pittsburgh's LGBTQ task force has demanded the expansion of housing and health care to transgender students, among other demands. The task force also called for a "walkout" on Tuesday. The demands include providing three fully staffed, in-person resource centers dedicated to the LGTQIA+, disability and BIPOC communities, expanding trans-inclusive health care and housing, and de-escalating crises on campus through trained mental health providers. The task force also demanded a minimum pay of $20 an hour and matching rate of inflation +1% for all university workers.
