UNC Graduate Student Arrested for Fatal Shooting of Faculty Member on Campus

A graduate student at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill has been arrested on charges of first-degree murder and having a gun on education property in connection with the fatal shooting of a faculty member. The suspect, Tailei Qi, was taken into custody about 90 minutes after the shooting and is scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday.
