Israeli Hostages Share Harrowing Tales of Captivity and Trauma

Israeli women and children who were recently released from captivity in Gaza have described being beaten, threatened, and moved around during their time in captivity. They were forced to whisper and had little to do. Some captives were shown footage of the Hamas violence, and children were threatened with weapons if they cried. The captives were kept underground and given limited access to light. They were fed unnutritious food, resulting in significant weight loss. The families of the captives have shared their stories, but there has been no independent verification. Most of the captives seized on October 7 are still in captivity.
