Stellantis' UAW Offer Sparks Potential Closure of 18 US Facilities

Stellantis, the parent company of Jeep, has proposed the unilateral right to sell its Auburn Hills headquarters and other facilities as part of its latest offer to the United Auto Workers (UAW). The proposal includes the option to sell the North American headquarters and lease it back, providing flexibility for the company's future plans. The UAW represents salaried employees at the headquarters and would need to agree to the proposal. Stellantis is also considering selling or closing other facilities, including the Trenton Engine Complex and the idled Mount Elliott Tool & Die facility. The UAW has rejected Stellantis' offer and strikes have been declared at several plants. Negotiations between the UAW and Stellantis, as well as other automakers, are ongoing.
