Dolby's FlexConnect: Revolutionizing Home Theater Audio

Dolby Labs has introduced Dolby Atmos FlexConnect, a new home theater technology that allows users to place wireless speakers anywhere in the room and calibrate them automatically to work with the TV's built-in speakers, eliminating the need for a soundbar or AV receiver as the central unit and HDMI cables. The technology will debut in a 2024 TCL TV, but Dolby expects other companies to support it. Dolby Atmos FlexConnect is connection and hardware-agnostic, allowing TV manufacturers to choose the wireless speakers they want to support. The system offers benefits such as improved audio performance, flexibility in speaker placement, easy setup, and intelligent audio optimization.
