WhatsApp to Introduce Usernames for Simplicity and Privacy

WhatsApp is reportedly developing a feature that will allow users to set up a username, making it easier to add contacts and offering greater privacy. The latest update to the Android app has added a username field, but the feature cannot yet be used. WhatsApp features often appear first in the Android app before being rolled out to iOS. Other recent improvements include the ability to edit messages, use the same account on multiple phones, and send short video messages.
