"Hidden Backdoor Found on Thousands of Android Devices"

Thousands of cheap Android TV devices, including set-top boxes and tablets, have been found to come preinstalled with the advanced Triada malware, which acts as a backdoor for cybercriminals. Security researchers have discovered at least 200 different models of Android devices that may be impacted, with signs of infection found in homes, businesses, and schools across the US. The malware is linked to a web of fraud schemes and advertising fraud operations, which have been taken down by cybersecurity firm Human Security. The affected devices are sold online and in physical stores, often under different names, making it difficult to trace their source.
