Beware of Google Alert: Ad Steals Billions.

Google has issued a warning to its billions of users to be cautious of fraudulent ads that aim to steal money by directing people to sites that ask for personal information or credit card numbers. The company has recommended five tips to look out for when interacting with ads, including reporting bad ads, learning more about the ads and advertisers, double-checking URLs, securing online accounts with strong passwords, and enrolling in 2-Step Verification. Google does everything it can to block bad ads, but some scammers can temporarily evade detection.
