Apple's Mac Market Share Soars Despite Declining PC Sales

Apple's Mac market share has increased, despite a decline in overall PC sales for the sixth consecutive quarter. According to IDC, Apple saw a year-over-year growth of 10.3%, becoming the only PC maker among the top five globally to achieve positive results. Apple's Mac computers now account for 8.6% of the global market share, with 5.3 million units shipped in the second quarter. However, both Apple and the broader market experienced a decline in shipments compared to the previous year. Apple's higher-priced PCs and continuous improvements in chipset and functionality have contributed to its loyal user base. Other top PC manufacturers, including Lenovo, HP, Dell, and Acer, all saw declines in growth.
