Workers Accuse Companies of Unfairly Targeting Union Supporters

Retail workers at companies such as Apple, Starbucks, Trader Joe's, and REI have accused their employers of targeting union supporters after organizing efforts gained traction, charges the companies deny. Some labor relations experts say the companies' progressive public profiles may help explain why they chose to hold back at the outset. However, once the union wins a few elections, the companies become more aggressive. The National Labor Relations Board has received charges of unfair labor practices from workers at these companies.
