"Brownsburg Wrestling Coach Battles Rare Brain Infection: A Fight for Survival"

Patrick Frepan, a wrestling coach, battled a rare brain infection called Bickerstaff brainstem encephalitis, leaving him unable to walk, talk, or eat. After experiencing hallucinations and misdiagnoses, he was finally diagnosed and began a long road to recovery. With the support of his wife and community, Frepan relearned how to walk and talk, overcame post-traumatic stress disorder, and returned to coaching, inspiring his students and wrestlers with his resilience and determination.
