The Escapist, a long-time gaming site, faced mass resignations after firing its Editor-in-Chief (EIC), Nick Calandra, for allegedly not meeting goals set by its parent company Gamurs. Following Calandra's termination, Escapist staff members, contributors, and producers announced their departure from the site, including Yahtzee Croshaw, the voice of Zero Punctuation. The entire video department was essentially cleaned out, leaving The Escapist without a video section. Calandra and his team have announced a new project called Second Wind, which aims to bring their style of video content back to life outside of Gamurs management.
