Redfall Review: A Promising Setting Hindered by Lackluster Gameplay.

TL;DR Summary
Redfall, the latest game from Arkane Austin, struggles to create interest in the fate of its fallen town and has a hard time finding fresh blood in overly familiar trends in the apocalypse genre. The game features a stylish sense of menace enhanced by splashes of bold red ’80s paperback font across menus and area names, but the enemies reveal themselves to be numb-skulled shooting gallery targets. The lackluster combat could be overcome by a narrative that fleshes out Redfall’s excellent sense of place. Redfall will be released on May 2 on Windows PC and Xbox Series X.
