Star players and commentators participating in a showmatch at the ESL Pro League Season 17 voiced their concerns about the new engine of Counter-Strike 2. While some praised the added tactical potential and utility of the HE grenades, others criticized the new smokes and flashbangs, as well as the lack of feedback and customization options in the HUD. Despite these issues, the game generated highlights and Valve is soliciting feedback to iron out the remaining kinks before its summer 2023 release.
