Michel Ancel Blames Managerial Conflicts for Beyond Good & Evil 2 Delays

Michel Ancel, creator of Beyond Good & Evil, attributes the prolonged development issues of its sequel to management conflicts at Ubisoft. Despite being announced in 2008 and re-revealed in 2017, Beyond Good & Evil 2 has yet to be released. Ancel, who left Ubisoft in 2020, cited disagreements among key managers as a major hindrance, with differing visions for the game causing confusion and lack of direction. Although Ubisoft claims the game is still in development, no substantial updates have been provided.
