Kojima's near resignation and cancellation of Metal Gear Solid 2 after 9/11.

Hideo Kojima almost resigned from Konami after the September 11th terrorist attack impacted the release of Metal Gear Solid 2. The game required 300 revisions, leaving the team in "crisis mode". Kojima believed the game shouldn't be released at that time and had "no other choice but to take responsibility and resign from the company". However, he was persuaded to stay by Ken Kutaragi, then Sony Computer Entertainment president, and Kagemasa Kozuki, founder of Konami. The game's eventual release was postponed by a few weeks until November 2001.
