Immersion sues Valve over rumble technology in Steam Deck and Index.

Immersion Corporation has filed a lawsuit against Valve for infringing on its patents related to haptic feedback technology used in the Steam Deck handheld, Valve Index VR platform, SteamVR software, and Half-Life: Alyx among other titles. Immersion is seeking damages, royalties, and an injunction against Valve. Many major tech companies have settled or licensed Immersion's patent portfolio, including Sony, Microsoft, Apple, Google, Motorola, Fitbit, and Meta. Valve has not yet responded to the lawsuit.
