GDC 2023 marred by abuse, assault, drink spiking, and sexism.

Multiple attendees at the Game Developers Conference (GDC) 2023 in San Francisco reported being subjected to abuse, assault, and drink spiking. Reports of belittlement, harassment, and assault of women were shared on social media, with some attendees being lured to hotel rooms and assaulted. The Games and Online Harassment Hotline invited people impacted by such predatory behaviours to get in touch. GDC organizers are working with the venue to investigate the incidents and track down the perpetrators.
