Facepunch cancels GDC meet-up due to threats.

Facepunch Studios, the developer of Rust, has cancelled its planned community meetup at the upcoming GDC event due to "IRL threats" against the team. The company said it had no choice but to take the threats seriously and prioritize the safety of its developers. Producer Alistair McFarlane said such threats are commonplace, with community-facing staff seeing threats daily when players and members of the "cheat community" lash out on social media.
