Embracer's Fishlabs hit by layoffs, 50 employees affected

Embracer-owned game developer Fishlabs has reportedly laid off around 50 employees due to a "lack of approval and financing" for an in-development project. The Hamburg-based studio, known for games like Chorus and the Galaxy of Fire series, is said to have been impacted by Embracer's ongoing restructuring program, which has already led to the closure of other studios and the cancellation of projects. Fishlabs' remaining team will continue to work on existing co-development projects with other Plaion and Embracer Group studios, while the affected employees will receive support and severance packages.
