A former employee of Virtuos, the studio co-developing the Metal Gear Solid 3 remake, claimed in a now-deleted Reddit post that Virtuos is also working on a remake or remaster of The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion. The user stated that the project, codenamed 'Altar', will utilize a 'pairing system' combining Unreal Engine 5 and the Oblivion engine. The game is expected to be released by the end of 2024 or early 2025, depending on whether it's a remake or a remaster. Virtuos is reportedly working on four other projects, including a Monster Hunter and Shadow of the Colossus-inspired game, an expansion for Amazon MMO New World, and a narrative climbing game codenamed Ominous.
