Digital Extremes Implements Layoffs Amidst Wayfinder and Warframe Development

Digital Extremes, the publisher of Wayfinder and creator of Warframe, has laid off an unknown number of employees, with at least 20 people confirmed to have been let go. The layoffs primarily affected the company's external projects and publishing teams, leading to uncertainty about the future of games like Wayfinder. Digital Extremes plans to focus its resources internally and will transfer ownership of Wayfinder to developer Airship Syndicate. This comes amidst a wave of job cuts in the video game industry, with over 6,000 jobs lost this year alone.
