Mozilla Cuts Workforce, Shuts Down Advocacy Unit

The Mozilla Foundation has laid off 30% of its workforce, affecting around 120 employees, as part of a reorganization to increase agility and focus on its mission for a more open and equitable technological future. This restructuring includes the elimination of its advocacy and global programs divisions. The layoffs are part of a broader strategy to create a unified narrative and adapt to rapid changes in the tech industry, according to executive director Nabiha Syed.
