Bandcamp Staff Cut in Half After Sale to Songtradr

Indie music marketplace Bandcamp has been sold to licensing platform Songtradr, resulting in layoffs at Bandcamp and Epic. Songtradr plans to continue operating Bandcamp as a marketplace and music community, offering artists the ability to license their music to various media platforms. Epic, the previous owner of Bandcamp, is investing in Songtradr and will work with them to license Bandcamp music to Epic games. The sale marks the second change in ownership for Bandcamp in less than two years.
