Stability AI Introduces Open-Source Language Models for AI Development

Stability AI has released StableLM, a suite of open-source large language models that can generate text and code. The models are trained on a larger version of the open-source dataset known as the Pile and are currently available between 3 billion and 7 billion parameters, with larger models arriving later. StableLM builds on the company's mission to make AI tools more accessible, as it has done with Stable Diffusion. However, the company warns that not all biases and toxicity can be mitigated through fine-tuning.
