Timberwolves Make Major Move, Acquire Pistons Guard Monte Morris

The Minnesota Timberwolves have acquired veteran point guard Monte Morris from the Detroit Pistons in exchange for Shake Milton, Troy Brown Jr., and a second-round pick. The trade provides the Timberwolves with added flexibility under the luxury tax line and a $4 million trade exception. Morris, who has playoff experience and a strong shooting record, is expected to provide valuable support behind Mike Conley for the regular season, especially during back-to-back games. Milton and Brown Jr., who were projected to be rotation players, did not meet expectations for the Timberwolves.
