Alabama Drops Jaykwon Walton from Basketball Team After Marijuana Arrest

Jaykwon Walton, a former G.W. Carver-Montgomery prep star who announced his transfer to the University of Alabama men's basketball team last month, was arrested in Tuscaloosa over the weekend for marijuana and gun possession. Walton and another passenger were charged with second-degree possession of marijuana and released on bond. Alabama coach Nate Oats announced that the university is no longer recruiting Walton. Walton had already transferred from Wichita State and would have needed an NCAA waiver to play immediately at Alabama this fall.
