Brett Favre's legal battles continue in Mississippi.

Retired NFL quarterback Brett Favre will remain as a defendant in a civil lawsuit filed by the Mississippi Department of Human Services seeking to recover millions of dollars of misspent welfare money. The lawsuit alleges that money from the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families program was improperly spent, including on projects supported by Favre, such as a $5 million volleyball arena and $1.7 million toward development of a concussion treatment drug. Favre's attorneys had argued that the department is suing him to deflect from its own role in allowing fraud.
