Trainer Saffie Joseph Jr. Suspended and Blames Churchill Downs for Equine Fatalities.

Trainer Saffie Joseph Jr. believes he is a "scapegoat" for the recent equine fatalities at Churchill Downs, which led to his indefinite suspension from entering horses at CDI-owned tracks. Joseph's two horses, Parents Pride and Chasing Artie, died suddenly over the first two days of racing at Churchill. Joseph claims that the suspension was issued to distract from the other three equine fatalities that have occurred at Churchill over the past week. Churchill Downs has not yet found a cause for the sudden deaths of Joseph's horses.
