"Breakthrough Tech Speeds Up Backcountry Search and Rescue"

Lifeseeker, a new tool developed by CENTUM research & technology, can help search and rescue teams locate missing people in challenging terrains within minutes by acting as a miniature cellphone tower. The technology, which is pending FCC approval, can pinpoint cellphone locations within a 3-mile radius and has been successfully tested in Colorado. It can also send text messages to the missing person and broadcast alerts to groups within range.
