Life sentence for would-be Trump assassin tied to Florida golf course plot

Ryan Routh, 59, was sentenced to life in prison for attempting to assassinate former President Donald Trump at the Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach, Florida, in September 2024. Found guilty last year, he fled after a Secret Service agent spotted a rifle; investigators later recovered a semiautomatic rifle at the hiding spot along with a note about the attack.
