Bears on the Loose: Unusual Sightings in Illinois and Florida

A black bear was spotted on a homeowner's porch in Antioch, Illinois, causing the Lake County Sheriff's Office and the Illinois Dept. of Natural Resources to warn neighbors to keep pets and children inside. This is the second bear sighting in Lake County in a week. The DNR advises residents to make noise to let the bear know they're there without approaching it and to never run or surprise the bear. If possible, go inside a building or get into a vehicle.
