Canadian Wildfires: Control and Planning

The Canadian wildfires, which began in early June and have affected Ontario and Quebec, are still burning with 232 out of 426 active fires labeled as "out of control." The harsh weather conditions in Canada are fueling the fires and making it harder for firefighters to combat the flames. The air quality in the U.S. East Coast is expected to improve over the weekend, but the lingering smoke has more to do with a weather pattern. Canada is currently at "national preparedness level 5," and international firefighters are flying in to help fight the fires.
