"Massive Rescue Operation Saves Lost Skiers and Snowboarders in Freezing Vermont Backcountry"

Twenty-three skiers and snowboarders were rescued in frigid temperatures in Killington, Vermont after becoming lost in the backcountry, with search and rescue crews using various methods to bring them back to safety. The group, which included 21 individuals initially and two more later, was found in single-digit temperatures and warmed up in rescuers' vehicles. The rescuers, including volunteers from Killington Search and Rescue and the Killington Resort Ski Patrol, successfully located and brought all the lost individuals to safety.
