Severe Storms and Heat Alert: Alabama Weather Update

Alabama is facing a threat of severe thunderstorms and excessive heat on Monday, with storms expected to begin around 11 a.m. to noon in northwestern Alabama and move southeast towards the Birmingham area after 1 p.m. The storms bring the risk of high wind gusts, hail, and intense lightning. A heat advisory is also in effect, with temperatures expected to reach the mid-90s and a heat index of around 105°F before the storms hit. Another round of intense storms is expected on Tuesday, with rainfall varying across the region over the next seven days.
