Michigan Weather Update: Storm Threat Diminishes, Flood Watch Issued for Lansing Area

Southern Michigan experienced hot and sunny weather with temperatures near 90 degrees, while showers and thunderstorms caused storm damage and power outages near the Detroit area. Rain is expected to increase in coverage today, with showers and thunderstorms forecasted for much of southern Michigan. The Upper Peninsula may see some peeks of sun, but mostly cloudy skies are expected. The storms will bring relief to the ongoing drought but also pose a risk of flash flooding, with the potential for over an inch of rain. Temperatures will be cooler, ranging from the 60s to 70s.
