Lake-Effect Snowstorm Shuts Down Schools and Blankets U.S.

A lake effect snowstorm has hit South County, leading to the closure of most schools in the area, including Jamestown and several others. The storm, which has already dumped over three feet of snow in northern Chautauqua County, is expected to continue with significant additional accumulations through Tuesday. The National Weather Service forecasts another 12-20 inches of snow in higher terrains, with Jamestown and surrounding areas potentially receiving up to 28 inches by Thursday.
