Heavy Rainfall Expected in Southeastern US This Week

A Weather Warn Day has been called for each day Monday through Friday this week in Western North Carolina due to an unusual and persistent weather pattern bringing significant rain and a threat of flooding. Heavy rain is likely each day, especially near and along the Continental Divide, meaning flooding will be a risk starting Monday. This is not related to any tropical system, but a result of an upper-level pattern that will stall across the Tennessee Valley and Southeast.
