DC braced for light evening snow as deep freeze lingers

Forecasters say there’s a 30% chance of light snow this evening in the DC area, possibly coating roads with a dusting to half an inch between 3 p.m. and 9 p.m., on top of lingering snow and ice from the weekend and a multi-day deep freeze that could refreeze overnight. A cold-weather advisory is in effect with wind chills near -8 F possible Thursday morning, and a longer stretch of subfreezing temperatures continues, with an uncertain weekend storm looming.
