Coastal Storm Ravages Maine, Leaving Thousands Without Power

A significant coastal storm is hitting Maine, bringing heavy rain, strong winds, widespread power outages, and coastal flooding. Central Maine Power is reporting thousands of outages due to fallen trees. The worst of the storm is expected between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Monday, with intense winds gusting over 60mph along the coast and over 50mph further inland. 2-4”+ of rain will likely cause flooding and river flooding, especially in the mountains. Coastal areas will experience high tides and storm surges of 2-3 feet, leading to coastal damage and dangerous conditions. The storm is expected to knock out power to a significant portion of Maine.
