Shreveport Mayor declares weather emergency following powerful storm.

Shreveport Mayor Tom Arceneaux has declared a weather emergency due to the storm and power outages impacting the area. A powerful storm with winds of up to 80 mph knocked out power to hundreds of thousands of homes and businesses, and stopped flights at Shreveport Regional Airport. The vast majority of damage reports seems to be road hazards with downed trees littering the ground, making it difficult and even dangerous for drivers. Bossier Parish officials are encouraging residents to be patient and stay off the roads while emergency responders do their jobs.
