"Brothers in Arms: A Veteran's Legacy Lives on in a New Military Cemetery"

Robert LeSage, a veteran, donated 14 acres of farmland to open a new state veterans cemetery in Redwood Falls, Minnesota, fulfilling his brother Richard's wish to be buried close to their rural home. Richard, who passed away in 2020, became the first veteran to be buried in the cemetery on August 7, 2023. The cemetery, one of four state veteran cemeteries in Minnesota, aims to ensure that every soldier can be laid to rest within 75 miles of their home.
